A key take away from this course is integrating technology creatively into lessons. I seemed to have doubted the younger students and their level of understanding with technology. However I feel now after understanding the technology curriculum. There is a lot students could do with technology as it could be integrated in so many different ways. My perspective about weaving technology into K-6 education has grown I had thought it was very limited before however I have been proved wrong.
The burning question that I have about the use of digital technologies in K-9 education is how can you implement technology to a school like Cappy Smart School and how are all students supposed to be on the same page with learning in Alberta; If schools aren't given the resources they need to successfully attain this target? This course has taught me that you don't need technology to have an enriched experience, the staff, teachers, and principle at Cappy Smart School has been amazing and have made their students learning experience as if not more educational without laptops.
I contributed to the learning of others by supporting their educational journey amongst mine. If my peers were struggling with technology I would support them by paraphrasing the instructions or showing them an example of mine. Overall, I would help my peers in the general sense wherever they needed support I would help them where ever. That being said I also learned a lot from others they supported me wherever I needed help.

Prabh,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed learning more about your experience!
Two stars:
- I like how you described how your perspective on technology integration has changed in relation to the school context of your practicum placement. Your experience and, thus, your perspective is essential for all educators to consider; some schools do not have the same sort of access to educational technologies as others, but this does not necessarily diminish the learning experience, especially when educators, such as yourself, take the time to design meaningful learning experiences for all students, despite limited access to educational technology.
- I am one of those peers that you have supported, specifically with the coding assignment, so I can attest to the ways in which you have supported your peers, and it is very much appreciated. Thank you!
One wish:
- I would like to hear more about what you have learned from this course.
Once again, great blog entry! Congratulations on all of the hard work you have done for your students and all the ways in which you have supported them with and without educational technology.
