Blog #3 Creation App

One of the biggest impacts in the classroom that constantly evolves is technology. Incorporating technology into the classroom is such an important concept to do with students in this day and age. My partner Chantelle and I had a great time planning this lesson and we both will tweak them to potentially teach them into our practicum!

I thought that it was interesting teaching the lesson to my peers. I really thought it was an experience that helped our teaching practice. It allowed reflection to flow and it was almost like a practice run before we would do it in our placement. I think something that needs to made kept in mind   about the lesson is that students should be taught about their senses before hand and the seasons so they can properly divulge in the lesson.

Some highlights that our group shared was that they loved being on the land and that this was a great way to understand technology. It was mentioned that there was many engaging moments outside and that this is memorable way for students to take part in land based learning. Students who took part of this all mentioned that they enjoyed the outside aspect of the activity. I think it is important for students to go outside and be apart of the nature and really take everything in. It is important for their everyday learning.

All the feedback/highlights that my peers in class gave is appreciated. Overall I really enjoyed Flip grid App in general as it is a great way for students to be interactive with technology. I would incorporate this into my classroom and have students use it from K-9 I would argue and purpose the idea that high school students can also use the app for their learning. It is a fun way for students to be engaged in what they are learning. Only positive outcomes come from students who are engaged in their learning.

  1. Prabh,

I really enjoyed reading your reflections on our lesson. I agree with your thoughts and feel that the strength of our lesson was the land-based component, but I really enjoyed how we were able to integrate technology into this process in a meaningful way that adds to the learning process. Additionally, I agree with your sentiment that the process of having the students record their thoughts keeps students involved in their learning and continuously reflecting on the process. I wonder how we might be able to modify this lesson in order to incorporate this lesson into further areas of study.
